Demand for viewings up and continuing to rise
Here at Haybrook, we have been open throughout lockdown, whilst not in the branches physically, we have been working from home.
Since the government announced that Estate Agents could reopen from the 13th May, demand for house viewings and valuations has skyrocketed and increased significantly every week. Our network of Haybrook branches have experienced high demand , with June viewing requests and valuation requests are higher than the 1st week of 2020*. The first week in January is typically when Rightmove have the highest amount of visitors, normally considered the peak of the market for buyers and sellers.
As well as the increase in viewing and valuation requests since lockdown was eased for the housing market, we have seen much higher demand compared to this time in 2019 for viewing requests for our listed properties - more than doubling compared to last year and house valuations for sellers up 300% on 2019.
These figures show the housing market is strong and for those buying and selling, there is plenty of demand even in these uncertain times.
Why is now a good time to move?
In terms of selling, it’s a great time to list your property, you can get great property photos with the much nicer weather for when your property is listed, a lot of people will have been thinking about their property search while in lockdown and so the intent of buyers is very high. They will have been able to think about what their current home is lacking and what they are looking for in a new property.
How are we operating in safe way for viewings and valuations if I do list my property?
We have a Stay Safe procedure in place for every time we meet, to ensure your safety and the safety of viewers and our staff, we also offer virtual valuations and viewings. We also arrange for video tours and a Quick Sneak Peek showing the highlights of your home to potential buyers.
