Why Portfolio Landlords should implement money-saving initiatives – and how
The most recent Royal Institute of Chartered Surveyors (RICS) report suggested that rents will continue to rise whilst the supply of new property to let will reduce. It predicts that rents will increase by around 2% over the next year, but that by 2023 the increase could be as much as 15%. RICS suggests rental price growth will be as a result of smaller-scale landlords exiting the sector as the full impact of tax changes becomes a reality.
This poses an interesting challenge for portfolio landlords, many of whom appreciate the positive capital growth they could enjoy by holding onto, and indeed continuing to build on their investment portfolio over the longer-term.
If the predictions made by RICS are correct, then landlords would be wise to keep hold of their investment and enjoy longer-term property price growth and improved yields. However, you should ensure that your portfolio is being managed in the most efficient way possible.
